Social account refers to a third-party personal account or page from a social platform that you add to OneSight. By connecting owned social profiles, you can monitor and analyze their performance data, publish content, and manage user interactions. By adding public social profiles, you can monitor and analyze the performance data of the accounts not owned by you.

1. Adding Social Profiles

Permission: Only members with any of the following permissions can add social profiles:

  • Super Admin

  • Account Admin

  • Members obtaining "social profiles adding" permission

Steps:

  1. Go to Settings > Social Profiles, enter the social profiles page, and click the Add a social profile button.

  2. Select the type of social profile (for example, adding a public social account. For connecting owned social profiles, refer to the document: How to Authorize and Add Profile?).

  3. Enter the social account name, username, or URL in the search bar and click search icon.

  4. From the search results, select one or more social accounts to add and click Next.

Note: You can filter social accounts by Add Status (Added/Not Added), Verify Status (Verified/Unverified), or Fans Size (e.g., 100K–500K fans).

  6. Add tags to the selected social profiles, assign them to groups, and click Save to add the profiles.

Note: Public Social Profiles v.s. Authorized Social Profiles

When adding a social profile, you can choose to add a public social profile or an authorized social profile. The core difference lies in whether account authorization is required and the data access level:

Public Social Profiles (No Authorization Required):

  • Definition: Social accounts whose content is collected via public data sources without requiring account authorization.

  • Data Access: Only publicly visible data can be collected.

  • Displayed Content: Includes post content, publish time, and engagement metrics (likes, comments, shares, etc.).

  • Use Cases: Competitor monitoring, industry benchmarking, and content inspiration.

Authorized Social Profiles (Authorization Required):

  • Definition: Social accounts authorized by the account owner through platform authentication.

  • Data Access: In addition to public data, gain access to core platform data that is only available to authorized users.

  • Available Data Includes:

    • Follower count, net follower growth

    • Post interactions, impressions, and reach (organic/paid)

    • Follower engagement rate, etc.

  • Use Cases: Brand-owned account management, in-depth content operations analysis, performance evaluation, etc.
