Mention Streams is a module in OneSight designed for real-time monitoring of mention content across multiple listening topics. It allows users to view the latest content streams from multiple topics side by side on a single page, helping them quickly grasp evolving trends, key discussions, and potential communication risks.

1. Function Overview

  • Each "stream" represents a monitored topic.

  • Supports opening multiple mention streams simultaneously (e.g., brand, competitors, product lines).

  • Captures the latest data in real time, allowing parallel viewing of content details without switching pages.

  • Enables quick search, filtering, and content management operations.

2. Typical Use Cases

  • Tracking Negative Comments: In the event of a crisis or sudden sentiment shift around a brand, quickly identify and monitor whether the negative discourse is spreading.

  • Tracking Hot Topic Diffusion: Analyze how the popularity and activity levels of multiple brands or topics evolve over a specific time period.

  • Competitor Synchronized Monitoring: Configure multiple competitors as independent mention streams for side-by-side comparison and real-time awareness.

3. Supported Actions Within Mention Streams

Each piece of content supports the following quick actions:

  • View content performance (e.g., interaction counts, video views, potential reach, etc.).

  • Assign content tags, translate, or forward.

  • Quickly jump to the original link or enter the content stream to view the context.

  • Filter specific topics via keyword search.

  • Set sorting rules for each stream (e.g., by time, interaction counts, etc.).

  • Use filters to narrow down specific mentions (e.g., platform, sentiment, location, keywords, etc.).

4. Usage Recommendations

  • You can configure multiple mention streams by combinations such as "brand + region" or "competitor + language."

  • Use in conjunction with the Alert module (learn How to Create and Manage Alerts?) to quickly identify and assess emerging incidents.
